To create a docu-series that captures the essence of Sisters in Sweat (SIS) and celebrates its 6th anniversary by showcasing the community, its origins, and its ongoing impact.
Project Overview:
In celebration of Sisters in Sweat’s (SIS) 6th anniversary, I led the creation of a docu-series that captured the essence of SIS and the incredible community that has grown over the years. The series, developed in collaboration with a film student intern, explored three key questions: What is SIS?, Why is SIS needed?, and How is SIS doing what they do? Through personal stories and interviews, we highlighted the voices of SIS members, coaches, and co-founders, giving an authentic look at the heart of the community.
My Role:
As the Creative Lead & Content Strategist, I was responsible for the concept, content strategy, and execution of the series. I collaborated with the intern on identifying key community members and guiding the storytelling process. My role encompassed creative direction, overseeing filming sessions, and ensuring the series accurately represented the values of SIS. I also designed teasers and developed a comprehensive release strategy to maximize visibility across social media platforms, driving anticipation and engagement leading up to and following the launch.
The Series Structure:
What is SIS? – The opening segment features the co-founders and key members, discussing the origin story of SIS and its mission to empower women through fitness and wellness.
Why is SIS Needed? – This segment captures the personal stories of SIS members, illustrating the emotional significance of the community in their lives and why SIS is vital.
How is SIS Doing What They Do? – Focusing on SIS coaches, this section highlights the inclusive and accessible fitness experience they create for every member, showcasing the personalized approach that makes SIS unique.
Filming & Content Creation:
I worked closely with the intern to identify key SIS members and coaches to feature in the series. Throughout the filming process, I provided creative direction and guidance to ensure that each story was captured authentically, allowing the true voices of SIS to shine through.
Teasers & Promo:
To build excitement, I designed engaging teasers and behind-the-scenes content, which helped generate anticipation within the SIS community. I also developed a strategic release plan, ensuring that the series was promoted across Instagram, Facebook, and the SIS website, maximizing its reach.
Launch Strategy & Engagement:
The docu-series was launched in tandem with SIS’s 6th anniversary, tying the storytelling to this important milestone.
Sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes footage were shared ahead of the series release, driving engagement and building excitement.
The release strategy included posting on all relevant social media platforms, ensuring the docu-series reached a wide audience and sparked conversations within the SIS community.
Impact of the Campaign:
Deepened Community Connection: The docu-series allowed SIS members to reconnect with the values and history of the community, reinforcing their emotional investment and pride in being part of SIS.
